Don't book anything from theses guys. Choose any other service(you can easily find another with google, if you can't at least don't book from this location). Avoid U-Haul, I would give this -1 stars if it was possible. Here is the story why: 1.First we get a a call in morning saying they changed the pickup time from 7am to 3pm(workable, they also gave $50 back)2. We got there at 3pm, they said the truck was not here yet, so we had to stand and wait for an hour for it to arrive.4. We asked over phone earlier for 26 foot truck, but on location they said we registered for 20 foot truck(basically gave the wrong truck).5. The guy setting up the contract verbally said you can drop of the truck by 5pm the next day, but he wrote on the contract 2pm on the contract instead, causing us to drop it of late and giving back the $50 (granted our fault for not properly reading over the contract, but still really shady move by him)6. We booked over phone and they said you could drop it of at Burnaby (closer to our end location). But apparent when they called saying we were late, they also said we had to drop it of to our original pickup location. So we wasted a bunch of cash on extra fuel time driving back.7. They also charged twice(total was $250 rental cost).8.The workers are really lazy, don't seem interested and are hard to work with. If this not clear yet, please save yourself the headache and don't be involved with these guys.
The staff here was pretty awful at their jobs. The line up was 5 people long and only had one person at the desk. He took about 8 minutes to ring up someone with 7 boxes and didnt even know how to open the cash drawer. The manager or supervisor who came in to help him was super rude to the cashier. Also their signs were all very misleading the small boxes were $0.99 each and they said bundles of 25 only $25.75 save $9 you dont save any money at that price and is a flat out lie to customers because 25 x $0.99 is $25.75. And all of their box prices were listed like that! Its a pretty low blow for a company to try and pull the wool over peoples eyes and make it seem like they are gettong a discount when they arent. Safe to say I wont be renting for U-Haul anytime soon.
our change in appointment time for hitch installation was not in the computer system thanks to the main call center who made the mistake. The staff (Will and Navjo (?sorry about the spelling) were sympathetic and although were unable to accommodate us, spent the extra few minutes and were able to call other locations to set us up the same day. Thanks to them, our vacation plans were not ruined!
8 months and you couldn't fix the alarm on my unit. Dozens of calls before the manager would even answer his cell.. & literally couldn't f***ing care about the broken alarms or security. Paid for 24 hour access I couldn't access... The staff is great just don't expect the manager to get anything done. I needed storage out of necessity, $1800 later... Never Again!
I had my reservation (made in a different city initially) transferred here by Uhaul reservations the day before I was supposed to pick it up. I rescheduled my afternoon and arranged to pick it up this evening since there's no way I could get to Surrey in a timely manner during morning rush hour. I made the 30 minute drive there, calling three times along the way to ensure that the truck was ready and they were expecting me. No answer. Got there before closing (within minutes of the reservation time) to a turned off 'open' sign and locked doors with the lights out. I and two other groups of people (who also had reservations) knocked on the door. The manager looked very fed up and sauntered over, unlocked the door a few inches. We all told him that we had reservations and that it wasn't closing time. He said 'too bad. We're closed. Come back in the morning.' then relocked the door.After having my reservation changed, then moved to Surrey (which I never requested or approved), I was literally locked out. I am beyond appalled. I spent half an hour on the phone with Uhaul customer service who cancelled my reservation and I have filed a complaint for escalation with corporate. Even though it means I will need to make multiple trips tomorrow now, I have booked a smaller vehicle with an actual reputable company and will use that for my move.It almost felt like I was in a workplace educational video of how not to treat customers. Just astounding.
