Mason Locksmith did a transponder (key only) with tax $110 for my Grand Caravan 2012 (no fob for close/open/panic functions). Basically cloning my original one. Start engine turn off.....yes it worked exactly one week. Today after one week usage, when I start..... oops! engine doesn't start....dead, no response. Also, though gear in PARK position the N (neutral) light up with RED and flashing. I was confused and wondering my gear, transmission screwed up etc. Lucky I was at my home, so brought the original key fob of Dodge... started....boom. Engine well and alive also, the N red light gone. Very normal. Back in business. Imagine, if I am away from my (house) original key fob, I would have end up towing to dealership/ repair shop for nothing. Would have spend lot of money for nothing. All because of this key malfunctioned or program error or quality of the key. Whatever it is, the truth is I was stranded.Contacted the owner Darren, explained the situation he refunded. He expressed his surprise saying it never happened like this before. My suggestion to him, try to use transponder with fob functions key may have better results provided if you are sure of your programming. Hopefully you will take this review in good sprit not a criticism. Jag
I give one star rather than no stars only because I did finally get 2 functioning keys for $40, overpriced I thought but nevertheless better than nothing. The owner refused to refund the keys which were not working at all on my car trunk and working poorly on the passenger door. He shouted at me saying that I was rude so though he was going to meet me half way (which I doubt), now would not & he threatened to call security unless I left the shop immediately. He did get the keys working finally but would not give a refund or discount for our troubles. Darren Pinch I think is his name and he is unprofessional, rude and a bully. DO NOT USE MASON LOCKSMITHS, Surrey, BC.
